Hello everyone,

Some sensible ideas, and I have put in comments on how the 3 posts can be improved. All of you are also welcome to comment on your classmates posts.
Please read and amend your post accordingly to make it better. :) Also remember that since you are online, you can also do some research to get more ideas and develop the ideas that you have.
Look forwrad to receiving and reading the rest of your posts. Remember the deadline :P

I think people drink and drive because firstly, they are just not a smart thinker for their safety and other people around him/her. Once they get something into their head-alcohol, they just do not realise what they are doing. In addition, I think most people drink because they are having a lot of stress and violence in their life and they really do not have anything else to do. To them drinking is the only solution and excitement in the person life and then they drive and have no coordination and balance. This will led to dangerous consequences.
Secondly, they think that it is safe for them to drive when they are drunk. They thought that they can control themselves but they are mistaken. When the alcohol is getting control of you brain, everything is sure that something bad will happen if you are driving when you are drunk!
Lastly, they thought that by driving after getting themself drunk, that will not troubled others. also they find that it is troublesome to take public transport. In fact, they will be returning home in a wrong way as they were drunk and did not know what exactly they are doing.
However, there are some ways that can be done to solve the problem of drink driving. Firstly, when they want to drink, they should not drive their vehicle. With that they know that it will be safer and will avoid any accidents to occur. Secondly, the person friend that is not drunk can help to drive their drunken friend home to ensure safety. Also the residential commitee can do house to house visit to explain to them the consequences of drink driving, and the penalty. Lastly, the police should do ptrol arund the possible areas that people usually get drunk.

Option 1
Option 1: (Discussion) Question: Based on what you have seen and read in the lesson, why do you think people drink and drive? Can anything be done to solve the problem of drink driving?
Based on what i have seen and read in the lesson, i think people drink and drive because, firstly, they think that it will be safe if they drive home by themselves and not taking public transport or ask their friends help to drive them home. In my opinion, it will more dangerous if they drink and drive home by themselves as it will put other road users at risk.
Secondly, it is because they find it troublesome to take public transport. Some of them lived quite far and they find it difficult to went back to their home.Besides that, buses,MRT or LRT will be closed at 12 midnight. For example, if the events or an occasion ends at 12 midnight or more than that, he/she will rather drive their car by themselves. Also, if he/she did not have enough money to take taxi, they will think the same way.
To solve this matter, the public transport can open for 24 hours or night shift. Moreover, they can ask help from their friends to drive them home. Next, the community centre can help them by organizing a campaign about the conseqeunces of drink and drive and even better if the community can help them to quit drinking.Lastly, the police force can have more road block in certain areas.

Option 1: (Discussion) Question: Based on what you have seen and read in the lesson, why do you think people drink and drive? Can anything be done to solve the problem of drink driving?
In my opinion, I think that people drink and drive because they don't know that they are drunk. Many people just don't realise what they are doing bacause they are drunk and they tend do stupid things beyond their imagination.
People drink alcohol because of some personal reasons. They drink alcohol because it helps them to relax, give them confidence, helps them to sleep, helps reduce anxiety, stops them worrying about things and to deal with stress. On the other hand, it helps them to cope with life and work.

Therefore in order for us to solve the problems of drink driving is to increase the price of the alcohol to an unaffordable price so that people will think twice before buying it or consume more until they are drunk. and when they want to drink, they should not drive their vehicle as accidents may likely to happen. Instead, they should ask their friend to drive them home to ensure that they don't get caught in accident along the way. And also, i think that the traffic police should often conduct roadchecks during festive season like Chirstmas or New Year so as to minimize the number of people who drinks and drive during festive season.
